What is the Sallal Grange up to?

Haven’t been to a business meeting in a while, or even ever? Maybe you’d like to. Why?

Right now we are supplying one and a half tons of food and hundreds of dollars to the local food bank each year. We are helping solve the problem of teen homelessness in the valley, hosting the Teen Closet, and hosting the Winter Homeless shelter. We’re also offering a venue for local musicians, offering experience and a venue for future musicians and a/v techs, making hundreds of blankets for children in need a year,  recycling tons of unwanted electronics, and we have a yearly holiday party. You can be a part of that, and help shape what we do in the forthcoming year.

Dairy Drive every week at QFC in North Bend

Several grangers got their food handler permits in order to help out at our functions, so we’re using them to help out the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank.

Every week, often on Sundays, and usually around 4 or 4:30pm till 6pm or 6:30 volunteers from the Sallal Grange will be in the North Bend QFC gathering dairy and perishable items. These will be kept in coolers, and dropped off right away for distribution. PLEASE NO MILK, or eggs. (The food bank gets a screaming deal on both: your generosity is better spent on cheese) Cheese is very welcome, as well as flavored yogurts, or even soy or almond milk. This is a way for us to give to the foodbank something more than just cans and boxes.

Collection times vary by when our volunteers can help out. If you’d like to volunteer (you don’t have to be a member, just willing to do a good deed. And you don’t need a food handler permit, we’ll tell you all you need to know) please email fld@sallalgrange.org.
