September Build-A-Blanket session for Project Linus

The Sallal Grange usually hosts a Build-A-Blanket session for Project Linus every other month. We cut fringe on fleece. That is all we do. Then we give the blankets to Project Linus, a national charity that distributes the blankets to local hospitals to give to children in traumatic situations.
But this time is different. We were contacted by Project Linus to ask us for as many blankets as possible, because the hospitals are out of the blankets that are so cherished by the frightened children, and they are asking for any possible help from us.
Monday the 22nd of September is the next Linus Project – www.projectlinus.org, at the Grange from 7 – 9 pm.
We will appreciate all the hands that we can get to help us cut the no-sew blankets. We have been asked to NOT tie the blankets anymore. That request was passed on from the hospitals because the knots got caught in the medical equipment, such as the tubes.
We have plenty of fleece that was donated to us, but we only have one rotary cutter and cutting mat. If you have rotary cutters and cutting mats, and you could please bring those, we would certainly appreciate it!
This event occurs every odd numbered month, except November.

Register for the Dairy Drive

The Grange is collecting Dairy (but not milk or eggs) for the local food bank. The food bank appreciates it, and the people we ask to donate appreciate the opportunity to give to the food bank. If you (or someone you know) can spare an hour or two to hang out at QFC, please email leah (at) aichele (dot) org. We need people every month. This is a great chance to let people know that our Grange is active in the community, as well as being a pillar of the arts in the Valley.
